RCCG Tabernacle of David
Church InstallationA Full-Scale Audio Installation for RCCG Tabernacle of David in Lagos
Our journey with the Redeemed Christian Church of God – RCCG Tabernacle of David (TOD) in Lagos, Nigeria, was one of purpose, precision, and passion. This large-scale audio installation project was one of the most fulfilling and technically intricate undertakings we’ve managed. From the very beginning, we were involved—not just as contractors, but as partners—helping bring to life a state-of-the-art sound system for a sanctuary that seats over 2,500 congregants.
Being included from the drawing stage allowed us to plan every detail meticulously. By the time we reached the inauguration of the space, every cable, speaker, and console had its purpose defined and executed with care. The RCCG Tabernacle of David team had a clear vision: they wanted a system that offered clarity, power, and consistency, ensuring that every sermon, worship song, and spoken word reached the congregation with precision and emotional impact.
Designing Audio Excellence for RCCG Tabernacle of David
A venue of this size required robust, distributed sound coverage to ensure audio fidelity throughout the auditorium. To achieve this, 21 JBL VRX932LA line-array speakers were strategically placed across the sanctuary. These speakers are designed for medium to large venues and provided the ideal combination of coverage, SPL, and intelligibility. Their compact form factor also helped preserve the architectural aesthetics of the building—an essential consideration for any modern place of worship.
For control, we implemented a BSS BLU-100 signal processor, which serves as the backbone of the entire audio signal routing and processing system. Its flexibility in managing multiple input and output zones made it a perfect match for the complex requirements of the church’s services and events. Whether it’s a mid-week Bible study or a full-scale worship session on Sunday, the system adapts seamlessly to deliver the best audio experience possible.
At the front-of-house (FOH), the Yamaha CL5 digital mixing console was chosen as the control interface. With its intuitive layout, high-quality preamps, and extensive processing capabilities, the CL5 gives engineers full command over the mix. Whether it’s a choir, live band, or a solo preacher at the pulpit, the system delivers with crystal-clear sound, minimal latency, and user-friendly operation.
International Support Meets Local Execution at RCCG Tabernacle of David
While this installation was carried out in Nigeria, it benefited immensely from international collaboration. Our team in South Africa worked closely with trusted partners to ensure smooth execution on the ground. Special thanks go to Anton from Wild & Marr and Bryan from Yamaha South Africa, whose expertise and logistical support helped ensure the project met both time and quality expectations.
Their assistance ranged from technical consultation to supply chain support, particularly in the specification and acquisition of equipment like the JBL arrays and Yamaha console. This kind of cross-border collaboration underscores how strong industry relationships and shared values can transcend geography to deliver excellence anywhere in the world.
Meeting Worship Needs with Technical Precision
Churches today require more than just a loud sound system—they require audio environments that support spiritual experiences, live music performances, and multilingual sermons. The solution we designed for RCCG Tabernacle of David is tailored to these modern needs. The sound system offers consistent volume and tonal balance, even at the farthest seating rows, with no feedback or dead zones.
Moreover, the flexibility of the system allows the church to expand or adapt it in the future. From connecting to additional rooms for overflow services to integrating streaming solutions, the infrastructure has been designed with scalability in mind.
A Project of Purpose and Pride
This project at RCCG Tabernacle of David is more than just another installation—it’s a reflection of what’s possible when vision, experience, and collaboration meet. From the architectural drawings to the final tuning of the system, we were privileged to be part of something meaningful.
This wasn’t just about sound; it was about community, faith, and excellence. We look forward to seeing how this space continues to inspire and uplift through worship, empowered by sound technology that is as dynamic and dependable as the people who gather there.
