Studio InstallationA New Chapter: Relocating and Reimagining the SpaceBar Studio
The SpaceBar Studios project, specifically the relocation and upgrade of SpaceBar Studio, was a unique venture that combined technical planning, creative vision, and personal comfort. Unlike building a new studio from scratch, this project was a studio move—an intentional shift from a previous commercial setup into a tranquil, purpose-built space at the artist’s private residence. The artist in question, Floors, a seasoned guitarist and producer, wanted to bring his creative environment closer to home, literally.
Having previously operated in a standard studio setting, Floors envisioned a new space where arranging, recording, and mastering could take place in a more relaxed atmosphere. The home-based location not only offers peace and quiet, but also, as he likes to mention, “some of the best coffee in town.” The aim wasn’t just to move equipment—it was to build a functional, acoustically sound, and inspiring studio that allowed him to work on his own terms without sacrificing professional standards.
Combining Old and New
A key component of the SpaceBar Studios project was the smart integration of existing infrastructure with new equipment. Floors already had a range of quality gear and reliable cabling, which we were able to repurpose and integrate into the new studio layout. This approach was not only cost-effective, but it also helped maintain a level of familiarity for him when transitioning into the new space.
To complement the existing gear, new components were introduced, including updated signal routing systems and connectivity options to support more complex workflows. The hybrid of old and new resulted in a studio that felt both familiar and modern—perfectly tailored to its user’s creative habits and technical requirements.
USB and HDMI connections were installed between the live room and the control room, providing real-time access and control of the main studio computer from within the live space. This means Floors can record takes, make adjustments, and monitor playback without ever having to step out of the live room. It’s a setup that encourages spontaneity, independence, and creativity—a true hallmark of a well-thought-out home studio.
With these enhancements, SpaceBar Studios successfully created a personalized production environment where inspiration and practicality meet. Whether recording a solo guitar line or managing a full session, the space supports efficiency without compromising on sound quality.
SpaceBar Studios: Designed for Comfort, Engineered for Creativity
At the heart of the SpaceBar Studios transformation was the desire to build more than just a technically capable studio. This was about lifestyle as much as it was about logistics. The peaceful surroundings of Floors’ home, combined with the studio’s new acoustic treatments and layout, contribute to a space that feels less like a workplace and more like a sanctuary for creativity.
While many studios are built for teams and commercial traffic, this one was designed for the individual artist. The result is a room where technical limitations never get in the way of musical expression—a room where good coffee, fresh ideas, and cutting-edge sound live in harmony.
Looking Ahead: Flexibility and Function at SpaceBar Studios
As production needs evolve, SpaceBar Studios is well-positioned to adapt. The modular cabling systems, dual vocal booths, and integrated connectivity allow for easy updates and changes in workflow. Whether Floors chooses to collaborate with more musicians, expand his gear, or even venture into video production, the foundation has been built with flexibility in mind.
This project proves that a home studio, when designed with care and expertise, can meet professional standards while offering personal comfort and creative freedom. It’s a studio that works as hard as its owner—quietly, efficiently, and always ready to capture the next great idea.
