Trace Studios, a cutting edge media production facility

We recently had the opportunity to contribute to the development of a cutting-edge media production facility at Trace Studios, designed to meet the demanding standards of modern video and audio production. The facility consists of two main spaces: a Live Video Capture Room equipped with a green screen infinity wall, and a dedicated Live Vocal Recording Room. Each room was built with a specific purpose in mind, ensuring both visual and audio production needs could be met with professional-grade results.

• HD monitor lines: These provide real-time video output to multiple screens, ensuring that directors, camera operators, and on-screen talent can all stay visually connected to what’s happening.

• Data lines for a digital audio mixer: To maintain clean, professional-grade sound, we installed digital mixer connectivity that allows for precision audio control. This setup supports both in-room monitoring and external routing, making the space highly adaptable.

Trace Studios Vocal Room – Engineered for Audio Excellence

Adjacent to the video capture space is the Live Vocal Room, a space specifically tailored for high-quality voice and music recording. Whether it’s used for podcasting, voiceovers, vocal performances, or instrumental sessions, this room is built to deliver clean, isolated recordings with minimal noise and interference.

Our installation in this room included:

• Eight microphone lines: This allows for flexibility when recording multiple vocalists, voice actors, or musicians at once, with each input individually routed for optimal audio capture.

• Data line for a digital mixer: Just like in the Green Screen Room, this line connects the vocal room directly to the central audio control system. It enables precise manipulation of levels, effects, and routing for each microphone input, all from the digital mixer.

The result is a vocal booth that’s ready to handle a wide range of audio production scenarios, from solo recording sessions to collaborative performances.

Collaboration That Delivers

This project was a seamless collaboration between Techmin, Benjamin Pro Audio, and TMB Acoustics. Each partner brought specific expertise to the table. Benjamin Pro Audio provided their in-depth knowledge of sound system integration and workflow design, while TMB Acoustics ensured that the acoustic treatment in both rooms met the highest standards for clarity, absorption, and isolation.

By combining our strengths, we were able to deliver a facility that not only looks professional but also functions at a professional standard—whether the client is live streaming an event, recording a podcast, producing an instructional video, or capturing vocals for a music track.
